New Avengers Infinity War Trailer Breakdown
WARNING : POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD
The conversation preceding this image features Gamora and Stark talking about Thanos. I love this conversation, because I feel many people (including myself) have been waiting for these “meeting moments” between the GOTG and The Avengers. Also I love that we build up Thanos a bit more and his sidious plan.
This next shot we see Iron Man’s new and improved suit, with his new nanotechnology and boosters, which I am extremely excited to see … maybe infused possibly with the Wakanda tech later down the road.
Next, we get too very signifcant shots, ultimately two of the reasons that Thanos is coming to Earth. Two of the stones that Thanos needs is in possession of two of our Avengers: Dr. Strange and Vision. This will be a very complex and dramatic storyline with these two as Thanos is going to do whatever he can to get these stones.
And then we have the first real “meeting” between the Avengers and the GOTG. This scene is especially hilarious between we see the strong-headedness of two of the leaders from each team. Which was such a fun dynamic for them to put in this trailer and I am really looking forward to seeing more of these conversations.
Next we see the new improved Hulk buster which we know from the new Marvel toys, actually contains Bruce banner inside. Im really excited to see what becomes of the Hulk buster in this storyline.
In this scene, we have Thor showing his newly learned power, and with an apparently new weapon in hand, possibly with the help of Rocket since we know that they probably meet shortly after Thor Ragnarok.
Now this scene is one of my favorite scenes in the whole trailer as it looks like a young Gamora with Thanos. This could give us some very good development of Thanos, and I feel will make Thanos a great villan if they really develop him in this movie.
Thor appears to be at the subject of Thanos in this scene in a great deal of pain, and I feel this could be used as part of a trade conversation between Loki and Thanos for the Tesseract.
Now this scene shows us the full Black Order in its entirety. We have Proxima Midnight (far left) seen pointing her staff at Loki. Proxima midnight known for her expert fighting skills should pose a great threat to even the best fighters in the Avengers (Cap, Black Panther). Next we have Ebony Maw, and Corvus Glaive. Ebony Maw I will discuss about in a later scene. Corcus Glaice is known for his immortality with his staff. So I think the Avengers will have to find a way to separate him from his staff, because with it, he will be impossible to kill. Next we have the massive brute Cull Obsidian (also known as Black Dwarf, Funny right?). A beast bigger than even Thanos with near impenetrable skin and incredible strength. I think Thanos will throw Cull at the Hulk to try to keep Hulk out of his way. The Black Order isn’t like any of the “armies we have seen so far in the MCU. The Black Order without Thanos is poweful enough to give some heavy blows to the Avengers, so I think this will be very different for the Avengers.
Ebony Maw appears to also be a Master Of The Mystical Arts
Rather Than Just A Persuasive Mind Deceiver
Then we have this scene. Which shows us Ebony Maw. The mastermind of the Black Order and a master of deception and sorcery. Thanos will probably send Maw after Strange to retrieve the Time stone from Strange. And from this scene it seems like he but nearly gets it as Strange seems to be tortured by some kinds of shards holding him in suspension as Maw gives a very insidious “Shsssh” to Strange.
This scenes shows us the Hulk buster being just overwhelmed by a bunch of Outriders. My hope(and guess) is the Bruce Banner inside the Hulk buster busts out of the suit and just tears the Outriders apart.
Then we have this scene with Thanos appearing to say to stark “I hope they remember you” and as it appears Stark has lost all hope and looks to be in utter defeat. Again showing that there is a real threat that the Avengers have never faced before and that they could actually lose this fight.
Then we have this scene. Captain America appearing to hold his own against the Mad Titan. Now I have heard complaints about this, “How can Cap being holding Thanos? Does this mean Thanos isn’t that powerful?” So here are some of my guesses. My first guess is Thanos is not using his full strength because he feels he doesn’t need it at first, and then Thanos appears shocked and almost amazed at Cap’s ability to hold him and almost appears frustrated that a mere mortal is attempting to hold him, and pushes harder and that is when we see Cap begin to truly struggle against Thanos. But that is just one idea. And I may be completely wrong. All in all, it really shows the character of Cap, and the “I can do this all day” kind of motto that Cap has.
Finally one of the last scenes, we get a hilarious exchange between Spidey and Strange and we see them introduce themselves, and Spidey says “Oh so we are using our made up names? In that case, I am Spider-Man”. Just a really funny scene and Im really excited to see more Spider-Man in this movie.
